Welcome back Bloggers!

Habits have been going great!  I've been getting to school on time every morning, which was a huge goal of mine. I've been using the method of waking up to only one alarm and using music, it helps a lot.  Earlier this week, I actually slept through my alarm and woke up at about 7:30 and still showered and made it to school on time.

Making my bed feels like a natural habit and I don't even think about it at all anymore.  This is my first habit that feels completely natural and normal and this type of comfort with the habit is my goal for all my habits.

I attempted a new method to strengthening my habits.  I read an article that said the best thing for your habits sometimes it to take a break.  Over our previous long weekend I decided to give this a go by refraining from my push ups and sit ups until the school week started up again.  The idea is that you're controlling a mistake in your habit so that it can be fixed easier in the event that you were to fall out of your habits on accident.  I was kind of skeptical of the idea because it doesn't seem to really strengthen the everyday routine.  After the weekend, I found it very hard to get back into doing the push ups and sit ups every night.  Not because I can't but more so because I was lazy and used to not doing them again.  It took more self-motivation to get back into the habit and rebuild it.  All-in-all, definitely would not suggest that method.  I feel "farther behind" than before the weekend.

I also haven't ran my mile a week.  I found it hard to fit in with my current schedule. Most of my day consists of school, football, eating, then homework, with not much time in between them.  Saturdays, I'm usually exhausted and sore from my football game the previous night and Sundays I work.  My goal is to do it sometime Saturday or Sunday morning.  Laying out a schedule and planning it I think will make running the mile easier.

  1. Glad to see that most of your schedule is becoming regular habits. Have you noticed a difference in how you feel on a regular basis? Like, has doing all these things in the morning make the rest of the day feel easier and more relaxed?
